City Link launches new product

June 19, 2012

Is this the way forward for SME’s?

City Link thought so when they launched their new alternative mail product called Click&Post.

City Link say their new Click&Post service will offer businesses a simpler way to send their letters. What’s more, they’ll be able to do so for less than the price of a second-class stamp.

The Click &Post service is threefold and the price includes:

  1. Print and fold a letter.
  2. Insert the letter into an envelope.
  3. Delivery to the end user.

Price (this includes postage, stationery, printing and labour):

For example, a single black and white print letter posted in a C5 envelope costs 39p +VAT.

Benefits:

It would seem that in addition to the business saving money, they could also save time by simplifying their mail distribution by combining printing, envelop stuffing and posting.

Sales and Marketing Director of City Link Tim Brown said: “Our Click&Post Service is a clear example of City Link’s strategy to develop a portfolio of services which not only meet the needs of its customers but deliver tangible benefits… Click&Post offers far more than delivery – it takes the hassle out of sending mail. It is ideal for small businesses, freeing up their staff from time-consuming admin work to concentrate on the core business. Whether you have a single invoice or a complete mailshot, Click&Post can handle all the strain – all you have to do is compose the letter.”

In addition, City Link says you can set up their new service for free and you don’t need to worry about a big IT installation.

City Link opens new depot in Chelmsford

May 2, 2012

On 30th April 2012, one of our courier partners City Link announced they’ve opened a new depot in Chelmsford.

This new state of the art depot replaces the existing Chelmsford North and Chelmsford South depots and will provide City Link with a platform to expand their courier operations.

Tim Brown, who is the Sales and Marketing Director for the courier company, highlighted this. He said: “City Link is once again a company on the ascendancy and the opening of the new Depot at Chelmsford is part of our plans to expand to become a £500 million company in the next five years.”

The new depot covers a huge 72000 square foot, which is 50% larger than the size of the two existing Chelmsford depots combined.

The depot will enhance City Link’s capability to handle parcels. In addition, the new depot has room for dedicated parking for trunking vehicles as well as space for collection and delivery loading.

The depot manager Paul Dillon said: “The new Chelmsford Depot will enable City Link to offer even greater levels of service to our customers. We are delighted with the new facilities and the employees have worked extremely hard to ensure the transition was as smooth as possible. These are exciting times for City Link.  The Chelmsford region has a huge amount of untapped potential and I am looking forward to further growing our business in the region.”

We wish City Link and the Chelmsford depot staff all the best with the new site.

Can you book a City Link Courier Collection through a booking agent?

April 9, 2012

Yes you can!

In addition you can book a Parcelforce Worldwide, Yodel and DHL parcel delivery service via a booking agent or a re-seller too.

If you’ve not heard of a parcel-booking agent before, here is a quick overview of the service they offer.

What is a parcel-booking agent?

In short, a booking agent or a re-seller offers a convenient, cost effective way to get quotes from a range of different parcel delivery services. Then once you’ve chosen, you can book and pay for your collection too.

What’s more, these services are on-line meaning you can access quotes 24 hours a day.

If you want to find a parcel-booking agent, simply search for cheap parcel delivery.

Easy to use

Then, enter your collection postcode along with your parcel’s size and weight dimensions. In return you’ll get a range of courier quotes.

What’s more, because the quotes are presented by price and for different delivery specifications, you get to choose which one suits both your budget and delivery window.

Advantages

In addition to convenience, a booking agent or re-seller could save you money. Book a big brand courier collection this way and it could be cheaper than going direct. That’s because booking agents and re-sellers buy so many collections, they get a bulk-buying discount allowing you to buy cheaper too.

So if you like your big brand couriers to handle your courier collections, remember you can access their service but possibly cheaper through a re-seller.
