Palletways opens a new depot

March 23, 2012

There are times when you want to courier something that’s a little larger than your average parcel. For those occasions a pallet delivery is a great solution.

Our pallet partner is Palletways and we were pleased to see in the news recently that they have opened a new depot in Dartford, Kent and created 5 new jobs. In total the new depot will employ 14 people, some of which will relocate from other Palletways locations.

Palletways Managing director Andy Turner said: “The move to open a new depot in Dartford is part of a wider national and international growth strategy. Over the years, we have built a very efficient delivery network, and Dartford presented a number of good business opportunities which would allow us to replicate the success we’ve had in other parts of the UK and mainland Europe.”

The Dartford depot will collect and deliver freight to customers in Dartford and nearby Bromley. In addition, the depot will be involved in the onward shipment of freight for delivery both within the UK and Ireland as well as European countries including Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Benelux.

The news of this expansion follows hot on the heels of the announcement earlier this month of a 7% growth in the Palletways group turnover.

Here at collectmyparcel.com we’d like to congratulate Palletways on their expansion, and wish the new Dartford depot lots of luck.

Palletways wins Beauchamp Foods contract

February 22, 2012

Today we’re reporting on some news from our pallet carrier – Palletways.

The MHW (Materials Handling World) Magazine this week announced that Palletways have won a contract with Beauchamp Foods. Beauchamp Foods is known for manufacturing continental, long-life bread such as Le Français petit pains, baguettes and ready-to-bake croissants.

The General Manager of Palletways Fulfilment Garry Curtis said; “we are thrilled to have been awarded a contract by Beauchamp Foods”.

The contract has been awarded to Palletways after a successful trial period. Palletways Fulfilment is the division of The Palletways Group who will handle the contract. The contract will involve Beauchamp Foods outsourcing its domestic distribution and warehousing activities. The Palletways network will be used to distribute Beauchamp Food products to various wholesalers and retailers nationwide.

The Managing Director of Beauchamp Foods Iain Fergus said: As our products are perishable, we needed a logistics provider capable of handling a very fast turnover product with strict use-by-dates and Palletways Fulfillment provided the ideal solution”.

Here at collectmyparcel.com we wish Palletways well with their new contract.

Palletways Southern Ireland partner successfully deliver their one millionth pallet

September 14, 2011

The Palletways hot air balloon that recently crossed the English Channel in a successful Guinness World Record attempt has made another appearance.

This time it visited the Transland Group Depot in Naas, Co. Kildare.

It made this appearance to help celebrate the one millionth pallet delivery by Transland Group through their Irish Hub.

Now that’s a lot of pallets!

Transland Group has been Palletways Southern Ireland member since January 2010. The Palletways website says this partnership has helped accelerate the achievement of the 1000000 Irish pallet delivery.

Managing Director of Transland Group, Kieran Conlon, says:

“We at Transland are very proud to have reached this milestone. We have all worked hard to establish a pallet distribution service that is second to none, through service features such as online booking and electronic proof of delivery. With the help of Palletways, we look forward to celebrating the two millionth pallet delivery.”

The Palletways network has more than 100 members (of which Transland Group is one) making it the UK’s largest pallet network. It is also collectmyparcel.com’s chosen pallet partner. The Palletways network

“provides a range of express distribution services for small consignments of palletised freight, including next day, economy and timed delivery options across the UK and Ireland, as well as a daily cross-Channel distribution service to mainland Europe.  Utilising each other’s’ resources, all the member companies deliver goods to market faster and more cost effectively than traditional haulage methods”.
