What’s the difference between next day and timed delivery?

May 2, 2013

If you choose to post a parcel with a courier service you can elect to have it delivered the Next Day (depending on collection cut off times).

In addition, if you’re happy to pay a premium, you can also ensure your parcel is delivered by a specified time period. The main difference is that these timed delivery services attract a premium price because they guarantee delivery between a tighter time window than the standard Next Day option – for example by 9am, by 10am or by noon.

However, there will be times when this premium service is worth the extra investment. Here are just three examples of when a Timed service may be just right for you:

  1. Your recipient does not want to stay in until the end of the day to await the arrival of their parcel.
  1. The parcel contains an item that is time sensitive, which means it must arrive by the morning.
  1. The recipient is waiting to use the item that the parcel contains and would like to get cracking ASAP.

As a sender you don’t need to do anything different to access the timed delivery courier network. Simply specify at the time of booking what premium service you require. The service will then be reflected on the electronic barcode to ensure your parcel is handled in the appropriate way to ensure timely delivery.

In addition, because your parcel is linked to a unique barcode number, you can also check online to confirm that your parcel has been received.

It’s all part of the courier service.

Here’s an easy way to send your Next Day parcel

October 30, 2012

Do you ever feel like you have so much to do but so little time?

The trouble is, it’s often those little, but important jobs that appear on your to do list that take a long time to sort and can really interfere with the rest of the day.

Now if you have a Next Day parcel to post, stepping out (especially on one of these cold, winder days) can be a real inconvenience. Popping out always takes longer than you planned and the result is you get less done in your working day.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could despatch that next day parcel without having to leave your home or office?

Well you can. You simply need to book a collection with a courier service.

It’s very easy to do. You can even do it online. Then once it’s booked, simply get your parcel ready for collection from the address that you specify and forget about it (well make sure you’re home when the courier arrives!)

The courier driver will collect from your door and give your parcel a unique barcode number. That way you can rest assured that your parcel isn’t heading into the abyss, but is traceable as it moves through the delivery network.

Then you can just carry on with your day. You’ll find a job, which could have taken you, a fair amount of time is over in minutes and you didn’t even need to leave the house.

What’s more, if you want to check in and see when your parcel was delivered, you can do that too. Simply check online using your unique barcode number and you’ll discover the information you require is available at the click of a mouse.

Simple.

But how will it help you?

How to send a next day parcel door to door

September 13, 2012

Do you have an urgent item that you need to deliver to someone?

If so, a next day courier service will be able to help.

A next day courier service is an express delivery solution that can enable you to get a parcel to someone in the UK by the next day (depending on when you book your collection and whether you meet the collection cut off).

It’s easy to arrange…

Simply book a courier collection from your chosen courier provider. In the UK you have lots of different brands to choose from including City Link, Parcelforce Worldwide, Yodel and DHL.

Next your chosen courier will collect your parcel from an address you specify. This could be a residential address or even your work location. Just decide where you will be on collection day and pick that one.

On collection your parcel will enter the courier’s network ready to be sorted and forwarded to its destination. This is usually a hi-tech process that often happens overnight.

Finally your next day parcel will be delivered to your recipient. Your recipient will probably have to sign for the parcel (depending on the courier provider you choose) giving you peace of mind that your item has arrived safely and on time.

If you are looking for a reliable, affordable way to send an important parcel next day within the UK, a courier service is a good solution.
