FedEx is currently letting their customers know they are aware of an email scam in circulation that fraudulently makes use of their brand. They appear to have it very much in hand and it seems other businesses could learn a lot from their example. As a consumer, although the advice is related to FedEx and parcel delivery, there is much to be taken from the information presented on the FedEx website for anyone who shops online and wants to know more about protecting themselves from falling prey to online fraud.
FedEx has helpfully provided examples on their website of fraudulent emails, which we think is a fantastic way of helping customers easily recognise a spam email, yet it also demonstrates well how real these emails can look.
Fedex has also listed plenty of advice about protecting yourself online. We’d recommend you take a look, parcel delivery or otherwise, and familiarise yourself with the terminology as well as the tools at your disposal to fight fraud.
