How to get a parcel delivery to Australia

March 16, 2012

Australia is a destination that intrigues and captivates so many people. “Down under” with its culture, heritage, wildlife and I’m a Celebrity fame has made it a hot destination for emigration, travel and holidays.

Which means you might need to send a parcel to Australia. Perhaps you want to send a pressie to friends and family, or stay in touch with the Australian buddy you met on your round the world trip. Whatever your reason for wanting to deliver an item to Oz, here’s a cheap and easy option to make it happen.

Book a courier collection!

What’s more, if you book your collection through a re-seller or booking agent like collectmyparcel.com you can often save even more money.

That’s because, in addition to being competitively priced, couriers also make it really easy to despatch your parcel. Did you know they’d pick your item up from a location that you specify – whether that’s a residential or business address? They’ll even help you sort out the waybill as your item has an international destination.

Talking about waybills, do remember that the rules and restrictions for sending parcels overseas does vary from UK destinations. Most importantly, you have to take into account customs requirements and be sure you’re not sending anything that’s prohibited. If in doubt, just ask your courier for clarification.

G’day!

How to send a parcel

March 14, 2012

Do you have a parcel to go?

Perhaps you’re looking to send your Mother’s Day present, or maybe you’ve got some goodies to send to a customer. Perhaps you’ve got some important documents to courier, or maybe you need to send something overseas.

Whatever your reasons for wanting to send a parcel, a courier can handle it for you efficiently and professionally.

Use a household name courier like Parcelforce Worldwide, City Link or Yodel and you’ll be able to send your item with an electronic barcode firmly fixed. This is a reliable way to minimise the risk of nothing going astray en route. What’s more, you get peace of mind because you can check in at any time and see where your parcel is. This is a great advantage if you’re expecting customer enquiries about a delivery. There’s nothing more frustrating than not having access to the key information that they need to know.

In addition, use a courier service and you’ll have access to a range of different delivery specifications to suit your particular requirements. Just pick the product which best suits your price and budget. There’s Next day, 48-hours, and even Sameday for those really urgent items. Even better, if you know your recipient is at home for limited times of the day, choose a Timed product or even a Saturday delivery.

These days, courier companies do their best to make it as easy and hassle free as possible to get your item from A-B. After all, with everything else you need to juggle during your busy day, you don’t want to be bothered by that parcel.

Use a courier to post your Mother’s Day parcel

March 12, 2012

This year Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 18th March.

That’s a little under a week away so you still have time to get yourself organised for this special day.

If you’re not able to see your mum in person, then remember to use a courier to send her a present and card.

What’s more, in term of delivery specifications, you’ve got lots of choice.

If you’ve already got her present organised, you’ll be able to pick a 48-hour service, which is a little bit cheaper than a Next Day service.

Then, as the day gets closer, you’ll want to pick a Next Day specification to be sure your parcel arrives on time.

If your mum is only home at certain times of the day, you may find that a Timed delivery product fits the bill.  In addition, for a premium price, you can arrange to have your item delivered before 9am, 10am or noon.

Finally, if you’re a last minute type of customer, don’t forget as a final resort you can call in a Saturday delivery service!

If your mum lives abroad you can also use a courier to despatch your parcel. But remember, the cut off dates to secure delivery in time for Mother’s Day will be a bit earlier – so don’t be late!

To get the best deal on your courier collection for Mother’s Day, search cheap parcel delivery and use a middleman or affiliate service.  It’s the easiest way to see what price points the big-name couriers offer – and ensure you choose the price and delivery specification that’s right for you.

To all you mums out there – we hope you enjoy the build-up to the big day!

What’s more, there is a further benefit of booking your courier collection in this way.

When you book through an affiliate or a middleman, you start your order by viewing quotes from the range of courier partners. This means that at a glance you can see which company offers the best deal for the weight and size dimensions of the parcel that you want to send.

Four benefits of a parcel collection

March 5, 2012

Do you have a parcel to go?

If so, check out these benefits of a courier collection service. It might make you reconsider that planned trip to the Post Office!

1. Saves time: One of the big advantages of courier collections is they will collect direct from your specified address – whether that’s a residential or business location. The plus side of this is you don’t need to make a special trip out. Perhaps you’re a home worker. By booking a courier collection, you can put the time you would have spent popping out to good use on your business.

2. Saves money: The courier market is very competitive. That’s good news for customers because it means affordable prices are now available. What’s more, the arrival of parcel affiliates and middlemen offer a chance to save more money. You can locate an affiliate by searching cheap parcel delivery. Use this route and you could pick up a household name courier collection for less than going direct.

3. Convenient: What could be easier than arranging a pick up from your specified location? In addition, the courier driver will carry the parcels to his van. This is great news if your item is large, heavy or you have a number to despatch.

4. Choice: Not only can you choose from a wide range of courier providers, you can also pick between Next Day, Same Day, 48 hour, Timed, national or international deliveries. In fact, whatever your delivery specifications, you’ll be able to find a courier product that meets your requirements.

Next time you have a parcel to go, try out a parcel collection service and see how it works for you.

What’s in the box?

February 29, 2012

Today sees an event that only happens once every four years.

It’s a leap year so we get to enjoy an extra day in the month of February – February 29th.

What’s more, it’s the day when women are traditionally “allowed” to propose to their man.

As you know, couriers will be out and about collecting and delivering parcels this leap year day.

The Next Day parcels that were posted yesterday would have been sorted overnight, distributed to the correct delivery depot and as we speak they will be on delivery vans ready to be taken to customers all over the country.

Timed deliveries will be delivered first, while Next Day items will be delivered sometime before close of play. If you’re a recipient you’ll be asked to sign when your parcel arrives, it’s a great security benefit and means the poster can check on-line to monitor the progress of their parcel.

Now, if you’re a recipient of a courier delivery today, the question is “what’s in the box?”

If the box is small – you never know! Perhaps it will contain a hint of a proposal! That’s the great thing about couriers – it’s a great way to deliver something important to the people you care about.

On this leap year day perhaps a lovely surprise is making its way to you via a courier.

How to get cheap parcel delivery for your on-line shop

February 27, 2012

Have you recently set up your own business?

It seems more and more people are going that way, and not surprising considering the wide range of benefits; flexibility, being your own boss, living your passion to name a few.

If you’ve gone down the on-line retail route, no doubt one factor you’ve been juggling is how to manage your postage and packing costs.

Or more specifically – “how do I get cheap parcel delivery for my on-line shop?” After all, P&P is a sizeable issue considering these costs impact upon the final price you charge customers.

Then how do you juggle making a profit whilst pricing your on-line goods competitively with high street and other retailers who don’t despatch items to customers? Perhaps you offer free P&P, or maybe you offer discounted rates for customers who place an order above a certain threshold.

Whatever your tactic, here’s an idea which could save you money when posting to a courier.

Just like other sectors, the courier marketplace is competitive. As well as the household name couriers like Parcelforce Worldwide and City Link, you’ve got more localised and specialist firms competing for your business.

In addition did you know you could now book a courier collection with parcel middlemen and affiliates? These predominantly on-line services allow you to grab a quote from a range of well know courier brands before selecting the price and delivery specification that best suits your business needs. What’s more, if you book through one of these affiliates you could save money.

Which is grand news for your bottom line.

Next time you want to save money on your despatches, Google cheap parcel delivery and check out how you benefit.
