DHL, a leading parcel delivery company, is well known for having won several recognitions and awards, and their Whitwood site has recently been recognised for its comprehensive health and safety strategies, which have been specially designed for its workers.
This is fourth time that the Whitwood site has won the award at the International Safety Awards ceremony. The ceremony was held in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, and was independently judged by the BSC.
Chief Executive of the BSC, Julie Nerney, commented that DHL’s excellent safety standards in the workplace have helped them to bag this award.
Terry Ager, Safety, Health and Environment Manager at DHL said that they are extremely happy to receive the safety award on behalf of staff members at their Whitwood site.
He added that health and safety are a top priority for DHL, as it helps the business to run more efficiently. This award demonstrates how the whole team at Whitwood is working extremely hard.
DHL offers international parcel services and its expertise lies in air, ocean, rail and road transportation. The award means that all DHL offices- which are located in more than 220 countries- have adequate safety procedures in place for their thousands of employees.
